Activists Try to Protest at Myanmar Embassy in Delhi, Detained | KNO

Around 50 people, mostly members of the Social Democratic Party of India, were detained while trying to stage a protest demonstration outside the Myanmar Embassy here in New Delhi on Thursday. They wanted to protest against the recent killing of Rohingya Muslims in the Rakhine state of Myanmar.

The protesters were taken to the local police station as no public protest is allowed in the high-security area of embassies in the national capital.

 

The protesters demanded the United Nations to take action to save Rohingya Muslims. Some of them also demanded withdrawal of Nobel Peace Prize from Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
